Rhymes for Babies
I was incredibly thrilled to be a part of a very admirable project from the Regina Public Library and Bravo Tango Advertising Firm. Based on data that shows babies who are read to from birth are more likely to become readers, the RPL commissioned an illustrated book of rhymes to be given away at the library's story time programs and to new parents at the local hospitals. The goal of the program is simply to foster literacy in people as early as possible.

MoSo Poster
MoSo is Canada's mobile and social media conference and music festival. They approached me to develop a poster which would be used to promote the conference and the festival, but also aesthetically inform other promotional materials.
I started thinking about analogies to tech and music. I liked the idea that music is to tech what a monster is to a robot. One is based in passion and feeling, one on logic and order.
MoSo is, in many ways, a coming together of two ways of thinking.
So, with that in mind I started developing this idea of showing a hybrid or amalgamation of a robot and a monster. This supports the idea that collaboration creates something greater than the sum of its parts. Or, when you cross a monster with robot, it's awesome!
Surrounding the creature are various objects and icons. Bacteria, amoebas, cells, computer chips, radio waves, music notes, electricity, instruments, etc. Multiple limbs suggest the multifaceted aspects of both tech and music.
The design/illustration has been well received. I'm also really excited that it is being developed as a silkscreened print! Awesome! 2013 Art Direction, Illustration -
Work/Life 3
My assignment for Uppercase's "Work/Life 3" was to create an image which shows how taking care of my son dictates my work schedule. During my sketching process i wrote "In my house, Brin is the centre of the universe." The execution of this concept happened very quickly.

No Junk Mail
Because I was super-frustrated with the amount of flyers and other junk mail I've been receiving in the last while, I looked for a nice-looking "No Junk Mail" sign. Unfortunately, I couldn't find one. So, I thought I'd create my own.

Belle Plaine - Two for the Road Tour Poster
Belle Plaine came with a loose concept: show the slightly chaotic experience of a cross-Canada tour. Belle and her bass player Elizabeth, fill a car with instruments (including a double bass), gear, and suitcases. With barely enough room for themselves, they hit the road.
As I started sketching and thinking about the design and concept, rather than drawing the car, I thought the poster could represent the vehicle. Filled with stuff, but also looking outward; experiencing all the things we see and do when travelling cross-country — wildlife, coffee, radio, greasy diners, the foliage, weather, etc.
Because this poster will be used at different venues across the country, we needed to have a way to easily plug in details ourselves, or let the venue hand-write them in. However, we didn't want one big blank area for venue owners to customize. We wanted something a bit more subtle and thoughtful. We think the solution turned out pretty well. 2012 Graphic Design, Illustration -
